Dr. Martinez-Ramos received the Industrial Engineering degree, major in Electrical Engineering, in 1988, and the PhD in Industrial Engineering in 1994, both from the University of Seville, Spain. Since 1990 he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Sevilla, becoming Full Professor in 2007. He served as Director of the School of Engineering of the University of Seville from October 2010 to January 2015, and as the Director of the Industrial Engineering graduate and postgraduate programs from 2015 to 2018. He is co-author of five books published by prestigious international publishers, and has co-authored over 50 papers in research journals and more than 60 papers at international conferences. Besides, he has supervised five PhD theses. His research activity is developed within the research group “Power systems” led by Prof. Antonio Gómez-Expósito. He is very active in R&D activities with electric utilities, including the main generation, transmission and distribution companies of the Spanish Power System. Dr. Martinez-Ramos is member of the Professional Association of Industrial Engineers of Western Andalusia, and Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE.
